2001 Plymouth Prowler

1 of 163 "Black Tie" Prowlers

The Plymouth Prowler was built between 1997 thru 2002 and 11,703 cars were built for USA and Canada during its 5 year run making it an instant classic and collectible. There was no 1998 Plymouth Prowler and it was called the Chrysler Prowler in 2002 as Plymouth was shut down in 2001. The "Black Tie" edition was a special limited edition made in only 2001 and only 163 were produced making it one of the most collectible Prowlers ever made as well as, the best looking Prowler with its classic 2 tone Black and Silver paint paint scheme that gives Prowler more of a classic, formal look for fellow hot rod enthusiasts. All "Black Tie" Editions had a Bright Silver hand painted pin stripe around the upper belt line

Visually, Prowler pays tribute to the rolling art of hot rods. Prowler also embodies some of the most advanced technology and materials and has the distinction of being North America's most aluminum-intensive vehicle. It was only a few years ago that the idea of mass producing a factory hot rod seemed too radical a concept for any major automaker to undertake. Since then, however, the Chrysler Group's concept-to-reality roadster has cruised into the hearts and garages of passionate automotive enthusiasts in North America.

Prowler first appeared as a concept car at the 1993 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Favorable response prompted the former Chrysler Corporation to unveil a production version of Prowler at the 1996 North American International Auto Show. Production began in July 1997 as a 1997 model and was only available in Purple. Prowler is manufactured at Conner Avenue Assembly Plant in Detroit and is built alongside the Dodge Viper production line
