LAS VEGAS, Oct. 30, 2001 – Power and attitude. These two words best describe the 2002 Ford Harley-Davidson™ F-150 SuperCrew revealed today at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show.

The new limited-edition truck features a supercharged 5.4-liter Triton™ V-8 engine, unique styling cues and a new color option – Dark Shadow Grey.

The 2002 Ford Harley-Davidson™ F-150 SuperCrew is the third truck jointly developed by Ford Motor Company and Harley-Davidson Motor Company. It joins two other limited-edition models – the 2000 Ford Harley-Davidson™ F-150 Super Cab and the 2001 Ford Harley-Davidson™ F-150 SuperCrew.

"The 2002 Harley-Davidson F-150 SuperCrew has a distinct style and attitude that's all its own," said Jim O'Connor, Ford Division president. "With a supercharged engine, four full-size doors, and unique styling, this truck gives customers the image they are looking for and the comfort, convenience and power they need."

Powertrain

Lurking under the hood of the 2002 Ford Harley-Davidson™ F-150 SuperCrew is a supercharged 5.4-liter SOHC Triton™ V-8, delivering a maximum output of 340 horsepower at 4,500 rpm – an increase of 80 horsepower. Torque also has been improved, and boasts 425 lbs.-ft. at 3,250 rpm.

The engine, which meets federal Low Emission Vehicle standards, is coupled with a proven F-Series four-speed automatic transmission – ensuring customers will have power to back the tough vehicle image.

The 2002 model features a two-piece driveshaft for improved noise, vibration and harshness. In addition, the vehicle features standard anti-lock braking and a 3.73 axle ratio and limited-slip differential.

Exterior

The 2002 Ford Harley-Davidson F-150 SuperCrew incorporates styling cues of the past with an innovative flair. Most notably, Dark Shadow Grey joins Black in the color palate as a unique color option. Flame pin striping and chrome accessories complement the overall package, and hint at the power contained under the hood.

The front end of the vehicle features a new upper chrome billet grille, clear-lens headlamps and clear-lens parking lamps embossed with the HARLEY-DAVIDSON Bar & Shield. For 2002, a distinct rivet design surrounds the center of the 20x9-inch five-spoke chromed cast-aluminum wheels, complementing the center caps that display the HARLEY-DAVIDSON Bar & Shield.

As in the past, the Ford Harley-Davidson F-150 SuperCrew is lowered one inch, and the vehicle features a specially-tuned exhaust system with a dual inlet/dual outlet muffler, ending in chrome 3˝-inch "slash cut" exhaust tips.

The official Ford and Harley-Davidson badging is proudly displayed on the quarter panel and tailgate of the customized F-150 SuperCrew.

Interior

The interior of the 2002 Ford Harley-Davidson™ F-150 SuperCrew features a console embossed with flames, complementing the unique exterior styling cues. The vehicle's quad captains chairs are upholstered with perforated two-tone leather and feature HARLEY-DAVIDSON Bar & Shield metal nameplates in the seat backs.

The interior also features brushed stainless steel and rubber pedals, Homelink® and TravelNote®, an Electronic Automatic Temperature Control system and a unique, restyled "spun metal" instrument cluster.

Optional equipment includes: a six disc CD changer, sliding rear window, engine block heater, moon roof, bed extender and, new for 2002, heated front seats.

“This truck reflects the lifestyle and individuality of both Harley-Davidson and Ford customers,” said Jeff Bleustein, Harley-Davidson chairman and chief executive officer. “It is right at home in Sturgis, Daytona Beach or Mainstreet, U.S.A.”

Background

The 2002 Ford Harley-Davidson F-150 SuperCrew will be manufactured at Ford’s Kansas City Assembly Plant. The new model will begin to arrive in dealer showrooms in early 2002, with a base MSRP of $36,495. Ford will produce no more than 12,000 limited edition 2002 Ford Harley-Davidson F-150 SuperCrew trucks.

2002 & 2003 were the only 2 years you can buy a Harley SuperCrew F150 with the SuperCharged engine.  In those 2 years, roughly 20,000 were built and are becoming an instant collectible.  Also, for those of you who do not know, this engine is the same engine that is found in the Ford Lightning, but is detuned to 340 HP down from the 380 HP in the Lightning.  Just swap out the SuperCharger Pulley and you are looking at 380HP.  I never did the swap because I bought it new and it was under warranty, and I never raced this truck so there was no need for more HP (340 HP is more than adequate).

All in all, you are looking at a low mileage, one owner limited edition 2002 Ford Harley F150 with a supercharged V8 that is in MINT Condition.
