You are looking at a numbers matching (picture above shows last 7 digits of vin stamped on the block), 64k original mile 1969 Firebird Convertible.  This is the ultra popular 1st Generation Firebird (1967-1969) which is a sister car to the Chevy Camaro.  With first gen Camaro prices going thru the roof every year, Pontiac Firebirds are built on the same platform called (F-body) and are considered undervalued and are catching up to the Camaro.  Plus you will always see more Camaro's on the road compared to Firebirds, so the exclusivity you will have.  The new Camaro is due in 2008 and is mostly based on the most popular body style of the Camaro/Firebird of 1969.  1969 was a one year only body style for the firebird/Camaro--most say it is the most beautiful of them all.  Debuting in 1967 as GM's answer to Ford's Mustang, the Chevy Camaro and Pontiac Firebird were GM's newest ponycars.  After selling many of these in 67/68, GM gave the Camaro/Firebird a mild one year makeover in 1969.  Starting in 1970, Camaro/Firebird went to a totally new design (aka Smokey & the Bandit style).  After 1969, Camaro/Firebird did not have a convertible until 1994, and both Camaro/Firebird ceased production in 2002.  Eventhough GM has given the green light for a 2008 Camaro, no word yet if they are going to bring back the Firebird as the name "Trans AM"  is owned by the SCCA (sports car club of America) and the agreement between Pontiac and the SCCA for use of the name has expired in 2002.

My 1969 Firebird convertible is PHS documented (Pontiac Historical Services) including a copy of the original window sticker, options ordered, and dealer sold to.  This certifies that this Firebird was ordered in a special paint color (Windward Blue), Power Brakes, Power Steering, automatic transmission, 350 V8, Bucket seats with Head Restraints and console, blue interior with white top.  The interior is original, the top was replaced some time ago, and the original paint was resprayed the original color some time ago.  As you can see in the pics above, this Firebird is show ready, paint shines, and there is no rust anywhere except for a couple of little rust bubble specs behind the passenger door and before the right rear wheel on the lower rocker panel.  Just for anyone that asks, this Firebird was not ordered with a power top or A/C.  The manual top is very easy to put up or down and you can do it yourself with no help from others.   Keep in mind, A/C can be added and will look stock as Year One has a whole catalogue of parts available for the Firebird.

My Firebird was sold new in Madison, Wisconsin.  Not sure how many owners, but I can trace it back to a car collector who owned it from 1992 to 2004 in Wisconsin (have a copy of that title).  In 2004 it was sold to a Auto Museum in Illinois.  The Auto Museum then sold it to a guy in 2004 who lives less than 5 miles from me.  I bought it from him in 2006 as I had been looking for 1969 Firebird Convertible in this color for over 2 years.  I was also born in 1969 and wanted a car as old as I am--I couldn't believe this prestine firebird was less than 5 miles from my house.

The previous owner I bought it from did a little updating to the Firebird, both mechanically and cosmetic in 2004/2005.  An aftermarket stereo was put in under the original radio, as well as, 2 front speakers in the front kick panels, and 2 rear speakers in the rear arm rests. A wooden Pontiac Steering dresses up the interior.   Enginewise, a top-end rebuild including a new 4 barrel carb, chrome aircleaner cover, chrome alternator, new intake, chrome valvecovers.  Also, a new dual exhaust (not too loud--just right, 4 new tires complete the car.  Of course, all parts that were removed with be included with the sale of this Firebird.

Why am I selling.  I just have too many cars in my stable right now (www.UltimateCarCollection.com) and can't give each one the attention they need (need to be driven at least once a week).  I really hate to sell this one, but figure if it goes to a good home, and is driven regularly, I won't mind not having it anymore.  Pontiac made only 11,649 firebird convertibles in 1969, so you can say these are very rare and you will probably never see another one in a car show or on the road in your town.

All in all, you are bidding on 64k original mile, PHS Documented, rare 1969 Pontiac Convertible that is rust free, does not smoke or leak, runs strong and is show ready.
